As with halogen lamps, the transformers are used to convert the operating voltage of 230 volts for the 12 volt or 24 volt LED lights. They are primarily used in cable systems or so-called LED strips. This is because it is particularly important for these systems to convert the alternating voltage, which is drawn from the conventional socket, into the required direct voltage.
